Photo of the Week…Doubles

Brandon came in town to fish with me this past weekend. He picked the perfect weekend. Conditions could not have been better.

On Friday we fished a numbers spot. I wanted to give him a taste of what the Upper Coast has to offer. The day started off a little slow due to the cold weather but as the day wore on the fish became more active. By the end of the day he landed more redfish than he’s ever caught in one day.

One of many doubles from Friday…

On Saturday I took him to a big fish spot. As good as the fishing was the day before Saturday was even better. We didn’t see as many fish but all of the fish were big. We spent all day chasing singles around with our fly rods. By the end of the day we caught more fish than the day before with almost all of our fish being over 27″ or oversized.

At one point on Saturday, Brandon and I had a quadruple between the two of us and all of the fish were over 27″.

On Sunday we slept in because we were tired from long days on the water and from catching so many fish. What an incredible weekend.
